AKT’s industrial action has begun

The collective agreement of the Finnish Transport Workers’ Union AKT expired on 31 January, and the collective agreement negotiations are on-going. On Wednesday 15 February, AKT began industrial action in order to expedite negotiations in the road haulage and terminal sectors concerning Kaukokiito, among others. The strike will end on 21 February at midnight for the road haulage sector and on 22 February at 6 a.m. for the terminal sector. The negotiations to reach a solution will continue during the industrial action.

During the industrial action, the operations of Kaukokiito will continue but with exceptional arrangements. We will do our best to ensure that we can serve our customers in line with our customer promise and make sure that the situation is not visible to our customers and their customers. However, industrial action is always an exceptional situation that can cause delays in the delivery chain and congestion at our service centre. We hope that our customers understand the on-going situation and acknowledge it in their own operations.

We will monitor the situation and the progress of the negotiations closely and, if necessary, we will provide information about the impacts of the industrial action on our operations on our website.

The bulletin was originally published on 1 February 2023 and has been updated on 14 and 15 February.
