In the last 20 years, we have made significant investments in our terminal network, the latest of which is the new 5,000 square metre terminal in Mikkeli. The terminal was completed at the turn of the year.
Kuljetusliike Kantola & Koramo Oy operated in rented premises in Mikkeli from 2014 until the end of last year. The company has continued its operations at its own terminal since January.
“With this investment of over EUR 6 million, we ensure our service ability in the future and support the local vitality and growth. The processing of goods becomes more efficient and the quality of our operations improves thanks to, for example, the covered premises where goods can now be handled,” explains Terminal Manager of Kuljetusliike Kantola & Koramo Kalle Kurkela.
Since the Mikkeli terminal was completed, we have changed and streamlined our production operations in a way that the shipments that previously went through the Varkaus terminal now go through the new Mikkeli terminal. As a consequence of this change, the operations of the Varkaus terminal were ended in stages during January 2021.
